The centre of Madrid is the perfect place to stay if you want to enjoy the attractions. The Gran Via road is probably the busiest and therefore noisiest place to stay, but it is central and has excellent access to shops, bars, nightlife and theatres.
More peaceful is the Paseo del Prado and nearby streets. Here you’ll be in a prime position to visit Madrid’s famous museums: the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemisza.

This area has an interesting history and some beautiful old buildings that are undergoing renovations. It is quiet during the day, and heaving with life at night. This is also an excellent central location.
